Overview: We make our way to Cairns in Far North Queensland for a relaxing afternoon, pre-trek brief and overnight stay at the Cairns Colonial Club Resort before flying to Port Moresby the following day.

Overview: Scale Imita Ridge, a pivotal WWII site, then descend into Va Ule Creek, crossing it 20+ times before climbing to our camp at Iorabaiwa Village.

Destination: Nauro Village
Overview: Ascend to Iorabaiwa Ridge, explore wartime trenches, cross the Maguli Range via Ofi Creek and finish at Nauro Village with stunning mountain views.

Overview: Cross the Brown River, traverse swamp flats, and tackle "The Wall" before reaching Menari Village to explore and connect with the local community.

Overview: A pre-dawn ascent of Brigade Hill for a memorial service and morning tea at the summit before descending Mission Ridge to Efogi Village. After a short ascent to Launumu for lunch, we end the day with an afternoon hike to Naduri village.

Overview: Ascend to Kagi Gap, detour to Myola to explore the Moss Forest and visit a WWII B25 Bomber crash site, then reach the track’s highest point (2,190m) before descending through Kokoda Gap to Templeton’s Crossing.

Start: Templeton’s Crossing
Destination: Isurava
Overview: We visit Eora Creek Village, detour to a newly discovered ammunition dump, enjoy waterfalls and stunning views, and arrive at the sacred Isurava battlefield, home of the Isurava Memorial.
Day 9 - On the Track
Distance: 9km
Start: Isurava
Destination: Hoi Village
Overview: We begin with a dawn service to honour those who fell in the Battle of Isurava, then walk to Hoi Village for an overnight camp, celebrating the end of the trek and giving thanks to our PNG brothers.
Day 10 - Complete the trek

Trailend: The Kokoda Memorial Arch, Kokoda
Final Destination: The Northern Beaches
Overview: We finish the journey to Kokoda, then travel via Popondetta to resupply before reaching the home village of our guides and porters on the Northen Beachs (Buna, Gona or Sanananda). Here, we explore war relics, experience local culture, relax on the beach, visit museums and markets, and reflect on this incredible journey.

Overview: Travel by road to Popondetta, then take a short flight back to Moresby for breakfast at the Gateway Hotel before departing from Jackson International Airport, Port Moresby, on your return flight to Australia.

Overview: Fly to Tanzania, arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport. From there, transfer to a hotel in Arusha to relax and commence your trek preperation
Day 2 - Rest Day
Location: Arusha, Tanzania
Overview: Today is set aside for rest after your long flight to Africa. Take time to check and pack your gear in preparation for the climb that begins tomorrow. You may choose to explore the town of Arusha or join optional half-day sightseeing tours of the area. Alternatively, relax at the lodge—go for a swim, read a book, or simply unwind ahead of the trek. In the late afternoon, we’ll hold a final briefing to ensure you’re ready for the adventure ahead.
Day 3 - Commence the trek

Trailhead: Machame Gate (1,820m)
Destination: Machame Camp (3,020m)
Overview: After breakfast, we’ll transfer to Machame Gate, meet our porters, and complete registration before starting the trek. The trail begins with easy walking but soon becomes steeper, with muddy, slippery sections through lush rainforest. After a lunch stop, we’ll reach Machame Camp (3,020m) by late afternoon.

Destination: Shira Cave Camp (3,840m)
Overview: Today’s steeper trek leaves the rainforest behind, transitioning to rocky, dusty trails across the Shira Plateau. Explore volcanic formations and climb Shira Cathedral for breathtaking views. At Shira Cave Camp (3,840m), enjoy stunning vistas of Kibo, the Shira Plateau, and Mt. Meru floating above the clouds.
Day 5 - On the mountain

Destination: Barranco Camp (3,950m)
Overview: We ascend lava ridges beneath the Western Breach glaciers, reaching Lava Tower (4,550m) for acclimatisation. After lunch, we descend into the Great Barranco Valley (3,900m), surrounded by cliffs and stunning views before reaching Barranco Camp for that night which offers amazing views of Moshi and the Barranco Wall, our next challenge.
Day 6 - On the mountain

Destination: Karanga Valley campsite (4100m)
Overview: The day begins with a steep ascent of the Barranco Wall, an exhilarating non-technical climb with breathtaking views. At the top, the trail becomes undulating along Kibo’s southeastern flank, offering stunning vistas of the Southern Ice Fields. Lunch is at Karanga, the last water point in a steep valley. Afterward, we ascend scree slopes to Karanga Camp (4,100m), arriving by mid-afternoon.

Destination: Barafu campsite (4500m)
Overview: Today’s short but steep climb takes us to Barafu Camp (4,500m), our final stop before summit day. The barren landscape of boulders and shattered rock adds to the sense of anticipation. Walk slowly to conserve energy, as shortness of breath is common at this altitude. Arriving by early afternoon, the rest of the day is spent resting and preparing for the summit push.
Day 8 - Summit day

Summit: Stella Point (5,739m) & Uhuru Peak (5,895m)
Destination: Mweka Camp (3100m)
Overview: Our summit ascent begins around midnight by torchlight, climbing steep volcanic scree with well-graded zigzags. After about six hours, we’ll reach Stella Point to witness a spectacular sunrise over Mawenzi. For those with the energy, a 2-hour round trip along the crater rim leads to Uhuru Peak , the highest point in Africa, passing near stunning glaciers and ice cliffs.
The descent to Barafu Camp is fast but tough on tired legs. After a brief rest and refreshments, we continue descending to Mweka Camp at the forest’s edge.
Day 9 - On the mountain

Destination: Arusha
Overview: After breakfast, we bid farewell to our porters, distribute tips, and take final group photos. A steady descent through lush forest brings us to Mweka Gate after 4-5 hours of walking. After completing National Park formalities, we’ll transfer back to our lodge in Arusha (2-hour drive).
Upon arrival, enjoy a well-deserved shower and some rest before a celebratory dinner, where Summit Certificates will be presented.
Safari Itinerary
Day 1 - Tarangire National Park
Depart: Arusha
Destination: Tarangire National Park
Overview: After breakfast, board your 4x4 safari vehicle and transfer to Tarangire National Park. Along the way, enjoy a stop for lunch at a cultural centre or Maasai Village. In the afternoon, embark on the first game drive during the prime wildlife viewing hours. Keep an eye out for elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffalo, impalas, hippos, and monkeys, among other wildlife. As the day ends, arrive at your luxury accommodation with a pool overlooking the park, providing a relaxing and scenic retreat.
Day 2 - Tarangire National Park
Location: Tarangire National Park
Overview: After breakfast, set out for a morning safari to explore more of Tarangire National Park, renowned for its stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the park's natural beauty. In the afternoon, return to our accommodation for relaxation by the pool or opt for a guided walk with a Maasai guide to the Lake Manyara shoreline.
Day 3 - Ngorongoro Crater
Depart: Tarangire National Park

Destination: Serengeti National Park
Overview: Start the day with a journey to Ngorongoro Crater, which has a vibrant ecosystem that is home to flamingos, water birds, buffalo, lions, black rhinos, hippos, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and various antelope species. After a morning of incredible game viewing, continue to Serengeti National Park, traveling through the breathtaking Serengeti Plains. Along the way, enjoy game drives and photo opportunities in this iconic African landscape. Arrive at a luxury mobile camp in the heart of the Serengeti and unwind with pre-dinner drinks, a three-course meal, and a campfire under a starlit African sky.
Day 4 - Serengeti National Park
Location: Serengeti National Park
Overview: Begin the day with breakfast in the wilderness, then spend the day exploring the Serengeti’s stunning landscapes and remarkable wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the scenery as you discover the wonders of this World Heritage-listed region. Return at sunset to your luxury mobile camp for pre-dinner drinks around the campfire, followed by a delightful dinner in the dining tent.
Day 5 - Serengeti National Park
Start: Serengeti National Park
Destination: Arusha
Overview: After a sunrise breakfast, we complete our Serengeti adventure with a final wildlife viewing en route to Seronera Airport. Here, a scenic flight offers breathtaking views of the park and eliminates a long drive back to Arusha. Upon arrival, relax at Lodge or take some time to explore Arusha before departing the following morning.

Overview: Hike from Mintaro Hut to Dumpling Hut, crossing the breathtaking Mackinnon Pass, passing the iconic Mackinnon Memorial, and descending past Sutherland Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in the world.
Day 7 - Milford Trek

Start: Dumpling Hut
Trailend: Sandfly Point
Destination: Milford Sound
Overview: Complete the trek by hiking from Dumpling Hut to the trail end at Sandfly Point, following the trail through lush forest, alongside the Arthur River, and finishing with a dramatic descent into the fjord, where you'll be greeted by the stunning views of Milford Sound; then transfer to Milford Sound.
Day 8 - Milford Sound

Overview: Rest day at Milford Sound, enjoy a scenic boat cruise on the fjord, relax, and prepare gear and provisions for the next leg of your journey

You can also opt for a 7 or 10-day full river itinerary, continuing downstream to the Gordon River, with the journey finishing on a yacht cruise across Macquarie Harbour to Strahan, followed by a bus trip back to Hobart (additional costs apply).

We recommend completing 6 days on the Overland Track followed by 7 days on the Franklin River. Alternatively, the Overland Track or Franklin River can be done as standalone itineraries. We prefer the 7-day rafting itinerary, which exits the river at Mt. McCall via 4WD to Queenstown and then a bus to Hobart. The full river experience can range from 7 to 10 days, depending on river levels. These options are subject to availability and participant numbers.
