Fiordland to Alps
Trek the rugged Hollyford Valley and explore Lake Rotomairewhenua, the clearest freshwater lake on earth
Embark on an unforgettable 14 day journey into two of New Zealand’s most remote and spectacular wilderness areas, the Hollyford Valley and the sacred Blue Lake on the Travers Sabine Circuit. This is a true off the beaten path adventure, taking you far beyond the popular Great Walks and deep into landscapes few people ever see.
In Fiordland National Park, you will explore the wild Hollyford Valley, walking through ancient rainforest, alongside powerful rivers, and out to the rugged coastline. Travelling by foot and jetboat, you will follow historic routes through a landscape that feels untouched and completely removed from the modern world.
The journey continues in Nelson Lakes National Park, where you will hike into the heart of the Southern Alps to reach Rotomairewhenua, Blue Lake, the clearest freshwater lake on earth. Surrounded by towering peaks and rich cultural significance, it is a place that invites stillness, reflection, and a deep connection to nature.
This expedition is both a physical challenge and a deeply rewarding experience, leaving you with lasting memories and a genuine appreciation for the wild beauty of Aotearoa.
