Kokoda Adventure

Walking the historical Kokoda Track is more than just a physical challenge. It is a mental, emotional and spiritual journey that provides a unique insight into an inspiring culture and our military history. People come back bolder, more courageous and more grateful for what they have. Life is never the same after you've walked the Kokoda Track. It's a life changing wilderness experience.

Return to Adventures.

We limit our group sizes to a maximum of 15 to minimise impact on the environment and villages and to maximise your experience and safety.                                                                                                                                            Our guides are trained in wilderness first aid and remote area emergency response skills.                                                                                            Everyone of the 100's of individuals we have taken across the Kokoda Track so far, have completed the journey and enjoyed it.

We also provide a thorough insight into the military history; visiting numerous battle sites and places of significance along the track where we take time out to pay our respects at these sacred places.

Most of our treks are scheduled from August to October each year as this avoids the busy periods around Anzac week; it is a more favourable time of year weather wise and from a historical significance point of view, it coincides with the anniversary of most of the major battles between Kokoda, Isurava and Brigade Hill. Other dates can be arranged for exclusive groups on request.

Having taken 100's of people ranging in age from 14 to 74yrs on the journey so far; we've come to understand that anyone can do it with the right preparation and enjoy the experience. The biggest lesson we've learnt is that our perceived limits are self-imposed. Our unique preparation program prepares you mentally, physically and emotionally so that you get the most out of the experience and take away valuable lessons that have a positive impact on your personal and professional life.

Our 'Remote Adventure Preparation' Program includes:

  • Planning Sessions
  • Life Balance Assessment
  • Kokoda Specific Conditioning Prescription
  • Group Preparation Walks
  • 2 Day Pre-trek Team Building Expedition

The program runs over several months and culminates with the team expedition weekend just before the Kokoda trip. Our trekkers often comment on how valuable this program is in terms of preparation for the Kokoda challenge and their own personal development.

"Last weekend was so incredible!  Can't find the accurate superlative to tell you how much I enjoyed it.    Thank you, thank you, thank you! "  Pam Beal

In September 2011 we were privileged to have Paul Ashenden - Deputy Editor of Adelaide's 'Advertiser' newspaper, travelling with us along the Kokoda Track and through to the northern beaches of Gona, Sanananda and Buna. Paul's daily reports typify the Kokoda Journey and provide a unique insight into the history, the environment and the culture. In 2010 we also supported volunteers to assist at Waju Medical Aid Post and to provide business coaching for micro-business development.
